Course Details

Our alternative provision course is specifically designed for secondary school students who have been excluded from mainstream education. Centred around music and media, the course aims to support participants development through creativity, fostering personal growth, and equip students with transferable skills that extend beyond the classroom.

Modules:

MU Create (Non-Accredited)
Students receive guidance, resources, and facilities to develop a music or media-centred product, fostering active engagement and a strong sense of accomplishment.

Creative Media (L2 Accredited)
Students craft and release their own multimedia project, while delving into the essence of multimedia and its significance in contemporary society.

Producing an Advert (L2 Accredited)
Students engage in the comprehensive process of conceptualising, crafting, and executing an advertisement to showcase their own or an already existing product.

Music Video Production (L2 Accredited)
Students plan, create, package and distribute a music video.

 

This course provides a dynamic platform for personal development. Participants will embark on a journey of creative exploration, using music and media as catalysts for self-expression and growth. Through a range of practical activities and projects, students will hone their skills in music production, media creation and digital storytelling, empowering them to communicate their ideas effectively in various formats.

Through a combination of hands-on activities, therapeutic arts practices, collaborative projects and individual reflection, students will cultivate resilience, self-confidence, and emotional intelligence.

The supportive learning environment fosters a sense of belonging and encourages students to embrace their unique talents and perspectives.

Designed to equip students with transferable skills from project management and teamwork to critical thinking and problem-solving. Participants will develop a versatile skill set that prepares them for their future pursuits outside of the conventional pathways.
